Biography
Daniel Clifton is a choreographer, composer, performer, and educator. His work is based in the body and movement but is multidisciplinary. Daniel’s artistic practices began with photography and music in his hometown of Niceville, FL, where he spent many years writing and playing music in bands. He then spent 17yrs working in NYC creating his own shows and collaborating and performing with artist such as Martha Clarke, Tere O’Connor, and Nicholas Leichter. Clifton currently lives in Salt Lake City and collaborates with Satu Hummasti. They premiered Lost Love Socialite/Sweet Love Recluse in 2019. Daniel is also a member of the Salt Lake Electric Ensemble. In 2018 SLEE released their recording of Philip Glass’s Music with Changing Parts. Clifton is currently on faculty at the University of Utah and has taught at University of the Arts, Florida State University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, American Dance Festival, American Dance Festival China, and the Korean Dance Festival.
